The Prosecutor's Office of Fier has sent for trial the file of the defendant Orges Xhelili, who is accused of the criminal offenses of "Murder of public officials" remaining in the attempt, "Deliberate serious injury" to the mayor of Divjaka, Fredi Kokoneshi.

In November 2022, Orgest Xhelili stabbed the mayor, causing life-threatening injuries.

At the same time, he also stabbed the mayor's driver, a GB citizen, who intervened to prevent the attack.
