Today, the new premises of the Special Court for Anti-Corruption and Organized Crime (SCAC) were inaugurated, in a ceremony attended by its head, Erion Bani.
In his speech, Bani emphasized that the choice of the inauguration day is symbolically linked to the “day of justice”, considering this an important moment for the institution. He stated that the new building was built with the support of the European Union and, according to him, represents a step forward in increasing the professional standards of the court.
"Justice is, first and foremost, a service to the citizen. The court does not exist for itself, but for the citizen and for public trust," said Bani.
He added that the environment where justice is delivered is part of the message it conveys, emphasizing the importance of infrastructure in the functioning of the judicial system. According to him, the inspiration for this transformation also comes from the experience of courts in the United States, while he described the investment as an “institutional necessity” and not a luxury. “This transformation is not a luxury, but a responsibility towards the citizen,” declared the head of the GJKKO.
