The Lezha Court sentenced Altin Marku and the former head of the Kallmet administrative unit, Besnik Simoni, to a total of 26 years and 6 months in prison, who on April 11, 2022, clashed with each other with weapons for trivial reasons.

Altin Marku was sentenced to 20 years in prison for attempted premeditated murder and illegal possession of a weapon.

He fired a gun at the former local government official, but Besnik Simoni also returned fire, leaving both injured.

The former official was sentenced to 6 years and 6 months in prison.

Throughout the process, Simoni denied having shot the fellow villager he encountered on the road connecting the village of Kallmet with the Lezhë-Shkodër axis, and his weapon was not even found.
