The Court of Appeal of Tirana has left 21-year-old Jorgaq Thëngjilli in prison, who caused an accident with two injured a few days ago near the Prime Minister's Office.

On 05.11.2023, around 14:00 on "Ismail Qemali" street, the citizen with the initials J. Th while driving the vehicle, lost his control, it is suspected that due to the speed exceeding the allowed rates, he had an accident with the citizen with the initials DK and the citizen with initials KD

The Court of First Instance of the General Jurisdiction of Tirana has held a trial related to the legal evaluation of the detention and the determination of the measure of security "arrest in prison" against the person under investigation, citizen J.Th, suspected of committing a criminal offense. Violation of traffic rules", provided by article 290/2 of the Criminal Code.

The Court of First Instance of Tirana General Jurisdiction, with decision no. 2598 Act, dated 08.11.2023, has decided:

1. Validation as legal of the arrest in flagrante delicto of the person under investigation J. Th.

2. The appointment as a measure of personal security against the person under investigation J.Th, "arrest in prison", provided by article 238 of the Penal Code.

The case on appeal was reviewed on the basis of the appeal made by the person under investigation with the initials J. Th, who requested a partial change of the decision, the setting of a more lenient security measure than "House Arrest", "Compulsion to appear in judicial police" or "Prohibition of exiting the country".

At the end of the trial, today on 21.11.2023, the Court of Appeal of General Jurisdiction, composed of the panel with Judge Ms. Irida Kacerja, decided:

Approval of decision no. 2598 Act, date 08.11.2023 of the Court of First Instance of General Jurisdiction Tirana.
