For more than two months, residents of the Bërxulla area have been protesting, demanding compensation for their land affected by the Thumanë-Kashar concession, according to the market price.
Although they have an official answer from the Territory Development Agency that Firma Gener 2 has not received a construction permit, the works have progressed.
Even Firma Gener 2, according to them, exerts pressure on residents in different ways.
"I was working at Gener 2 and they fired me because I went out to protest for my property," says a resident.
This time, the residents moved the protest a little further from their lands, where the works continue.
"We have moved to see more clearly how Gener two works are carried out without any kind of permit."
"Residents don't come here, this is a bargain made by the government with the roads, with company owners"
"Any company, if it is caught in the territory without a construction permit, the law says to suspend its license, while the Gener 2 company continues its work here calmly" - say the residents.
In addition to the local and central government, these residents have been abandoned by the institution that should support them.
"The People's Advocate must represent us in the protest. It's been two months since he received our letter and he hasn't given us any answer" - say the residents.
Residents are determined not to allow the work to continue on their land. In Bëxulë, the project affects 30 ha of land and 20 apartments./TCH
