There is no advertised Albanian business in the Manastir bazaar. The "Inside Story" camera, which followed the situation closely, noticed that the only business with an Albanian owner that was there, had no inscription at all.

Hristo Kirjazis is a descendant of the famous Kirjazis, who did so much for the Albanian language and Albania. It bears the name of his grandfather Kristo Qirjazi, who for a long time led the "Bashkimi i Kombit" printing house in Manastir. He is remembered for his great work in publishing books, texts and newspapers in the Albanian language. Although he has a glorious history of his ancestors, he does not know how to speak Albanian, except for a few basic words such as: hello and thank you. He and all the Qirjaz in Manastir are completely Slavized, like most of the Orthodox Albanians in this area. As these photos with the inscriptions on the tombs of the Qirjaz people show, the Slavization of those who did not leave started very early. Hristo admits that many Albanians here in Manastir are still afraid to admit their origins.

"I am a descendant of Qirjazve and I am Albanian. We are members of the Qirjazi family, other people from my family hide and do not declare that they are from the Qirjazi family. All my Qirjazi family are afraid and don't want to show that they are Qirjazi. My son Oliveri and I are proud to be from the Qirjazi family, a visionary family that has made a great contribution to Albanians," said the descendant of the Qirjazi family.

He says that they have been left in oblivion and do not enjoy any support since they have not joined any of the political parties. Although they also had a printing press for Albanian books in their house, unfortunately even their son, Oliveri, does not speak Albanian apart from the Albanian language courses he has completed.

"Maybe we came to this situation because my father had a lot of pressure and a lot of fear" - said the descendant of the Qirjazi family. He says that the Orthodox Albanians in the monastery have had a difficult life, and as a result many of them have been Slavized.

"Being an Orthodox Albanian in Manastir is difficult. There are families that came from Korça, Voskopoja that I know very well, but that I don't want to tell, and that are afraid to declare that they are Albanians and hide under other names", said the descendant of the Qirjazi family.

Today, the successor of Qirjazë is in danger of being imprisoned and feels threatened. Everything is related to his commitment in 2015 for the re-establishment of the Albanian Orthodox Church. However, his patriotic commitment encountered almost hostile opposition from the Macedonian Orthodox Church.

"I risk going to prison, they accuse me of falsifying documents" - said the descendant of the Qirjazi family.

The blow to the Albanian identity in Hristo is also found in the responsibility of the compatriots themselves. According to him, a part of the Albanians have shown themselves to be pragmatists, taking advantage of the temptations of power.

"They have merged into other nationalities, I don't want to show that it might have a bad effect on them. Everyone is in good positions, while my son and I do not belong to any political party and maybe this has penalized us employed" - said a descendant of the Qirjazi family.
