An event of scandalous proportions is being reported by British media. Passengers of a WizzAir plane traveling from London to Tirana yesterday afternoon were held hostage for 90 minutes at Luton Airport.

"Wizz Air flight W95004 was scheduled to fly from London/Luton to the Albanian capital, Tirana, at 3:10pm yesterday, but passengers were held up on the tarmac for almost 90 minutes," local media outlet  Birmingham Mail reports .

The bizarre incident occurred when staff accused passengers of stealing a security guard's phone. Police boarded the plane and the passengers were held on the tarmac for nearly 90 minutes, but it turned out that the item they were looking for was not on board.

The delay was caused by security camera footage allegedly showing a passenger taking out a phone at the airport. However, after an 88-minute delay, the cabin crew announced that there were no items on the plane.

A 28-year-old passenger who wished to remain anonymous told British media that staff had called the missing mobile phone and claimed that someone had opened it. There, according to them, they had heard the flight departure announcements and immediately suspected that a passenger on board had stolen it.

Almost an hour after the drama had begun, a frustrated crew member informed passengers that staff were reviewing security camera footage to identify the suspect.

"We still want to give this potential person who made the mistake the opportunity to come forward before we find them on video. Once again, please come forward to me or my colleagues in the background," he said.

The situation became even more tense when the phone went missing and police officers boarded the plane, leaving the disgruntled passengers stranded at Luton. More than an hour after the scheduled departure time, exhausted flight attendants broke the news to the angry passengers – there was nothing on board.

"There is no item on this plane, we are now satisfied with our safe position to depart. We ask for your understanding for this situation. It is a fairly new situation for us as well, we are doing our best and will be on our way to Tirana very soon," they said.

Wizz Air flight W95004, scheduled to depart from London/Luton to the capital of Albania, Tirana, at 3:10 PM yesterday afternoon, departed around 4:40 PM and arrived in our country two hours later.
