The Greek police executed in the early hours of this morning a secret operation in cells with Albanians in the prison of Chania in Crete.

The Greek media  Protothema.gr reports that controls were carried out in 6 cells with 13 Albanian prisoners, among them the cell of the head of the Albanian mafia in Greece, Klaudian Lekotsai.

The checks were carried out in continuation of the investigation into the murder of Kreshnik Çerçizaj and Armando Organja on Sunday evening in a bar in the Nea Smyrni neighborhood, which is suspected to be related to the murder of Edmond Papa on Friday afternoon in Tirana. It is suspected that the order for these murders may have come from the prisons (the most talked about is that of Domoko) and is related to settling scores among Albanians.

In the cells of the Albanian "barons" of crime, agents of Attica Security (Attica region in Athens) headed by experienced Crimes officers in cooperation with the Homicide Department, a team from EKAM and a drug sniffing dog have landed.

The operation was so "top-secret" that it was carried out in extreme secrecy without the prior information of the prison authorities.

"Everything was done on a confidential level," an ELAS officer told Protothema.gr.

"The police do not have phobic syndromes and intervene when and where they find it useful and necessary. "There has been no such police intervention in the Chania Prisons of Crete for years," he confessed.

For the items and narcotics found and confiscated in the cell, an update will follow from the Commissariat.

It is suspected that Edmond Papa, Kreshnik Çerçizaj and Armando Organja are related to a series of other assassinations and murders between Tirana and Athens, among which the remote control bomb execution of Aleksandër Sadikaj on June 11 of this year in Tirana. The cause is suspected to have been the loss of about 700 kg of cannabis some time ago.
