Patients are sent to the private for heart operations, the minister: Emergency
Minister of Health, Ogerta Manastrliu

The Minister of Health, Ogerta Manastrliu has reacted to the denunciation of the democratic deputy Tritan Shehu that for a month the cardiac surgery at QSUT has been blocked due to the lack of materials for heart surgery such as oxygenators. At the press conference, Manastirliu said that this service has not been interrupted for any moment for emergency cases. She emphasized that measures have been taken to supply this ward with all the necessary materials.

" It was a question, but I believe it was the answer in real time from QSUT, which had an exhaustive answer for the service and the continuation of the cardiac surgery service. For urgent situations, he has not been absent at any moment, we also have Professor Boboçin here, the service has not stopped for a moment. We have taken measures for the materials that have been and to increase the volume to continue in the cardiac surgery service.

The number of interventions has increased compared to the previous year by 30%, there are 847 interventions that have been performed. When budgets are allocated, they are allocated based on projections. At the beginning of the year, the capacities of the halls and teams are evaluated. The total number of interventions in 2022 is 847 interventions, in 2021, there were 817 interventions. More interventions performed, not only have we covered emergencies, but also more planning.

During 2022, we opened a second cardiac surgery center in 'Shefqet Ndroqi', where over 100 cardiac surgeries were performed. The number of interventions and patients served have received all the necessary help and support. The Ministry of Health has allocated all the budgets and the procedures for creating the supply continue to be carried out normally and today it has provided the materials needed to continue normally so that there is no lack of service for emergency cases. Everything is as normal as QSUT declares.

We have taken measures to have a continuous supply. There is nothing missing in the cardiac surgery service for emergency services and it has even been decided that the waiting list will be exhausted. The budget, for all services, has been provided in full by the Ministry of Health. The legal procedures will be followed until the 1st, the service for the patients will be 1 on 1. That's what you said, that's what was guaranteed ," said the minister.
