The lawyer of former Prime Minister Sali Berisha, Genc Gjokutaj, in a statement to the media said that there is no court session for his client as the court's decision has not been executed.

He described the decision as illegal and as such, emphasized that it cannot be accepted by the chief democrat.

"Mr. Berisha does not have a court hearing, as the decision has not been executed, as it is an illegal decision and as such cannot be accepted by Mr. Berisha. This is an irregular legal process and at the moment when Berisha did not know and this decision was not executed, he is not part of this process. Now this procedural impasse must be resolved by those who created it. They are unilateral decisions of the prosecution."

Asked if Berisha will come to court, the lawyer answered:

"We will ask Mr. Berisha".

After receiving the court's decision that accepted SPAK's request for the appointment of the security measure of mandatory appearance and prohibition to leave the country against the former prime minister, the police officers went on Saturday evening to the headquarters of the Democratic Party.

They stayed there for about 60 minutes, but were unable to communicate the court's decision to the former prime minister.

Sali Berisha informed the media that he refused to meet the police officers. He explained that the court's decision against him is in violation of the Constitution, since a member of parliament's freedom cannot be restricted without the Parliament's decision.

SPAK accuses the former prime minister of passive corruption regarding the privatization of the former Partizani complex.
