The holy month of Ramadan begins today

Today begins the holy month of Ramadan, one of the most important periods for Muslim believers around the world.

The ninth month of the Islamic lunar calendar marks a time of fasting, spiritual reflection, and devotion to faith.

Fasting represents one of the five pillars of Islam, and according to the religion, it is considered obligatory for all adults who do not have health problems. From dawn to sunset, no food is consumed and intimate relations are avoided.

The month of Ramadan is considered, according to the Islamic religion, the month of patience, self-control and prayer, an invitation to recognize responsibilities in relation to God, oneself, family and society.

Ramadan commemorates the first revelation of the Quran to the Prophet Muhammad. It also includes the Night of Power, considered the most important night of the year. The month ends with Eid al-Fitr.

Religious authorities have called on believers to spend this month with peace, solidarity, and devotion, emphasizing the importance of the spiritual and human values ​​conveyed by this special period.
