"Bankers"

The trial against 10 suspects in connection with the "Bankers" case began today at the Court of Appeals.

The individuals are accused of tax evasion and money laundering.

The first session was held behind closed doors, due to the nature of the case and the parties' request for confidentiality.

Meanwhile, representatives of the company "Bankers Petroleum", as well as representatives of the Chinese Embassy in Tirana, were also seen outside the court premises.

We recall that the General Director of Bankers, Chinese citizen Hong Ping Xiao, and former director Leonidha Çobo are under "prison arrest" security measure.

Five other people have been placed under house arrest, while three others are under mandatory reporting and banned from leaving the country.
