The full testimony of the former director of Rrogozhina prison, who was declared wanted, surrendered and then released within a day, has been revealed, in connection with the case where around 4,000 cannabis plants were found on a family property.

In his testimony, he categorically denied any knowledge of the illegal activity, saying that it had nothing to do with the cultivation and that he was unaware of what was happening on the family property.

"I was on my way to the city of Tirana for a training at the General Directorate of Prisons and, before arriving, I saw on my phone from social networks what had happened and immediately returned and presented myself at the Elbasan Police Directorate to clarify the circumstances," he states.

He adds that the apartment and warehouse where the plantation was discovered have not been frequented by his family for years and that no one has lived there for about 10 years.

"I want to clarify that the apartment and the warehouse located there have not been frequented by my parents for a long time and have not been inhabited by anyone for almost 10 years. I live in the city of Elbasan with my wife and two daughters," he says.

In his testimony, he says that he goes to the village very rarely and only to meet his parents, adding that the last time was about three months ago.

"I go to the village very rarely to visit my parents, who live with my brother, Romario Hasa. The last time I went was three months ago," he declares.

He continues by explaining his brother's role in the property and previous activities: "My brother manages a bar-cafe in the center of the village and deals only with the bar. My brother took care of the apartment. The warehouse previously served as a poultry farm that my brother owned. As far as I know, during the Covid period, my brother's chickens died and he no longer deals with that part. My brother sometimes comes to my bar when he has free time and also helps me at the counter."

He again denies any knowledge of the suspected activity and adds details about the electricity:

"I don't know the details of what's there. I know that my brother built that pole with a contract with OSHEE a few years ago, I don't remember exactly when."

Meanwhile, as part of the investigation, his brother has been declared wanted, along with an OSHEE employee, while another official has been placed under a mandatory reporting measure.

Investigations continue to fully uncover the case and the role of each person involved.
