Mariglen Qato, the former director of the Inspectorate of Territory Protection (IMT) in the Municipality of Tirana and the former director of the Tirana Waterworks, Redi Molla, reacted through their lawyers after the Special Court against Corruption and Organized Crime signed the order the arrest for them.
Qato has denied the accusations that SPAK brought against him, adding that every action he took was done in compliance with the law, while he emphasized that with his arrest, SPAK has proven that he fell prey to the pressure of the head of the Party of Liris, Ilir Meta and Belind Kelliçit.
"I, Mariglen Qato, am innocent. I have nothing to do with the allegations and have done no wrongdoing. In the exercise of my duty, I have worked with dedication and have strictly applied the law. I feel sorry that SPAK has fallen prey to the political pressure of Ilir Meta and Këlliç, who launched this political attack on me, without having any real facts. I remain confident that this process will end as soon as possible and justice will do its job. The truth of my innocence will come to light", said Qato.
Even Redi Molla's reaction was in the same line as Qato.
"I'm Redi Molla, I'm a Civil Engineer graduated in Italy, with a long career in Italy and Albania. For 4 years I ran UKT with excellent results and during all the time I was in office I respected the laws of the country and gave my best. Today I became aware of the accusations brought against me by SPAK - I declare with full conviction that I am innocent of these accusations, and I have no connection of interests with the company in question.
This attack has been launched against me for more than a year, politically inspired by DP and PL, and I regret that part of this pressure has fallen not only the media, but also the Prosecutor's Office.
I expect that justice will act quickly and fairly and that my innocence will be proven by the court. I will continue this battle in every instance convinced of my innocence", said the statement of the former director of the water supply Redi Molla.
