Among the highest paid / But, MPs feel discriminated against by the

MPs' salaries are among the highest in the salary hierarchy in Albania.

Currently, a deputy's monthly payment is four times higher than the minimum wage, 2.5 times higher than the average salary and 50 percent higher than the average salary of 900 euros that Rama has set as a target for 2025.

In addition to the gross monthly salary of 156,000 lek, the status of deputies provides them with a number of monetary privileges such as fuel payments, monthly telephone bills, per diems, monthly rent, hotels, extra payments for participation in commissions and diplomatic passports.

So every month, in addition to the payment, a deputy receives on average another 1,500 euros for the payments recognized by law.

However, it is noticeable that the high salaries of MPs often do not translate and do not match their parliamentary activity.

So regardless of whether a deputy is active or not with legal proposals, speeches in the assembly or meetings in the areas they represent, the payments are still charged to the same extent.

Currently, the debate that is holding up the approval of the law on salary increases for some categories of public administration employees is the inclusion of MPs in the salary increase reform.

The left and the right are considering the possibility of proposing a law amendment to ensure an increase in the level of their monthly salary.
