The lack of a device that serves to perform DNA analyzes of bone tissue has been the reason for not investigating the murder of Menduh Kurtdeda, who was found burned in May 2017 in Malin e Dajti, for 7 years in a row.

Only after the month of March 2022, when it coincides with the arrival of the device, the police carried out the examination of the bones found in Dajt, with the genetic profiles of the family members.

The comparison yielded the same result, leading to the resumption of investigations and the arrest of Gazmir Ngota and Marjeta Karaj, her son, Besmiri, was declared an international wanted man.

The same situation happened with the discovery of the remains of Mariglen Gjonaj in Laç, whose identity was scientifically discovered 7 years after the disappearance of the body.

The discovery of the DNA was made on June 3, 2022. The event in question was investigated several times by the prosecutor's office of Kurbin and that of Serious Crimes in Tirana, but without being able to discover the author of the murder.

Only after the identification of the 16-year-old Gjonaj, the investigation was reopened and in October 2022 the arrest of Kristjan Cenaj was carried out, who has already been left in prison by the Kurbin court./OraNews
