" A wild weather is approaching Albania ," renowned Greek weather forecaster and PASOK MEP Sakis Arnaoutoglou has issued an urgent warning of extreme conditions expected to hit western and northwestern Albania this weekend, especially on Saturday.

In his latest update on YouTube , the renowned Greek weather forecaster addresses Albanian citizens and tourists currently in the country directly: prepare for powerful storms, intense rainfall, continuous lightning, and large hail that could cause serious damage.

According to its detailed forecasts and the maps it publishes, the most at-risk areas include Shkodra, Lezha, Durrës and other parts of the western lowlands.

There is a real risk of flash flooding, due to the high amount of rainfall that will fall in a very short time.

"This is not ordinary autumn weather, what is coming is an extreme situation that requires attention and preparation," he declared.

Local authorities are expected to be on alert, while citizens are advised to avoid unnecessary movements on Saturday.
