The author and researcher Monika Stafa considers the writer Ismail Kadare the most important figure for the representation of the identity of Albanians after Skënderbeu and Marlin Barleti.

In an interview for "Breaking" in Top News, Staff said that Kadare was the elite representative of the Albanian nation.

" It had a more than European dimension. After Skenderbeu and Marlin Barleti, it was the truest symbol of Albanian identity.
