Prime Minister Edi Rama, through a statement to the media, commented on the decision taken today by ERE to reduce the price of energy to 8.5 lek per kilowatt.
Rama stated that the measure is well thought out. He said that this reduction in energy prices is in the opposite trend to prices in the region, which are only increasing. The head of government added that Albania is the first in the region for energy production.
Edi Rama: We will share with the public an achievement that is one of the most significant of our government, the first reduction in the price of electricity in the history of these 35 years. Today we have taken a well-thought-out measure on the price of energy. These are the fruits of the reforms undertaken.
The reduction in energy prices is in the opposite trend to prices in the region. This reduction in energy prices has also been discussed with experts. Albania today, thanks to the measures we have taken, is a major energy producer, the largest in the region. Albania gets 10 percent of its energy from the sun.
