A man drove his car into the waters of the port of Cattolica in Italy, along with his wife, after a violent argument between them. Both managed to escape in the last moments, while the man, after being helped by passersby, fled and is now being sought by the Carabinieri throughout the territory.

A violent argument between a man and a woman in the cabin of their car and, suddenly, the man drives the car at full speed over the harbor pier, then jumps into the sea water.

Moments of terror at the port of Cattolica, where on Wednesday afternoon, around 4:00 PM, many people who were there witnessed a scene like in a movie.

On board the Volkswagen Golf, according to what has been learned, was a 45-year-old Albanian, resident of San Giovanni in Marignano, who attempted to end his life and kill his wife.

From the collision with the water, the doors opened and, as the vehicle sank, the two managed to get out of the cabin and were rescued by several people who jumped into the sea.

The alarm caused 118 vehicles to arrive at the port, in addition to firefighters, carabinieri, and Port Authority officers.

Medical personnel provided first aid to the man and woman, but suddenly the man, as soon as he was mentioned, fled among the rocks, losing his tracks.

The woman, a 40-year-old Italian woman, in an understandable state of shock, was transported to hospital, where her life is not in danger.

The 45-year-old Albanian, currently wanted by the Carabinieri, was a person long known to law enforcement, after being arrested by the Carabinieri on Tuesday for resisting authorities, following another argument with his wife.

Meanwhile, operations are continuing to remove the Golf from the port waters. (Rimini Today)
