An unusual event happened today in Tirana, with a 27-year-old foreigner as the protagonist.

The capital's police say that the foreign citizen with the initials AR took a taxi in Tirana, and the moment the driver got off to collect the luggage, he hijacked the vehicle and left.

The 27-year-old man was handcuffed in Elbasan, while according to the police, yesterday he had stolen a car from a service station in Vora.

Police notification:

Today, on the highway, in front of a shopping center, the foreign citizen AR, 27 years old, took a "Hyundai" taxi, driven by the citizen LC. At the moment when the taxi driver got down to take out the luggage, the citizen AR, took the vehicle and left.

He was then located and detained by the police services in Elbasan.

The 27-year-old has been accompanied for further procedural actions, while the investigative group is working to clarify the circumstances of the event.

This citizen was declared wanted yesterday, on 20.10.2024, after allegedly stealing a vehicle from a service station on the Vorë-Marikaj road.
