The court and the prosecutor's office in Tirana have entered into a legal conflict over the Memorial of Serbian Soldiers in Tirana.

In the file available to Tch, it is mentioned that the Albanian authorities were informed by the Serbian ambassador about the damage to a memorial cross that was published on the TikTok application.

In the video it was written "Mirdita's soldiers violate the memorial of Serbian soldiers in Tirana", but the investigations, despite the searches, failed to identify the perpetrators. However, the court has refused not to start the investigation with the conclusion that the prosecution must perform every possible action to find the persons who caused the incident.

The court assigned four tasks to the prosecution to discover the authorship. Therefore, the dossier asks the prosecutors who must provide evidence and answer. What was the purpose of building the Memorial of Serbian Soldiers? What does this memorial represent in itself?

The prosecution should verify if there are remains of Serbian soldiers in this memorial and whether or not the funeral agency has a special register or other document where the names of the Serbian soldiers have been recorded?

The capital court further adds in the decision that the closing of the investigation by the prosecution is not fair, since the necessary actions have not been carried out regarding the acts that should be administered by the Funeral Agency. But the prosecution insists that it has carried out every investigative action.

Among the actions carried out, the indictment mentions the inspection of footage on Tik Tok, the lack of security cameras in the cemetery, police expertise and the questioning of some employees of the funeral agency.

Among them is the technical director of the Sharra cemetery, who explains that after being informed about the damage to the memorial, he asked the workers if they had seen suspicious persons, but they had no idea, says Gentian Roshi./Tch
