The Albanian national team has again become news in the German media, but this time not for football, but for a scandal, for which the Dortmund prosecutor's office has started investigations.
The German media reported earlier that a member of the AFL is being investigated by the German prosecutor's office for sexual harassment, but "BILD" has provided other details, reporting that it is not just harassment, but rape.
According to BILD, the employee of the AFL, for whom only the age (26 years) has been made public so far, raped the employee of the hotel in Kaiserau where the Albanian national team was staying.
"BILD" writes that the FA supervisor raped the 18-year-old hotel employee on the evening of June 23.
The article states that the employee of the Kaizerau sports school hotel in Kamen notified the police after the attack on June 23 at 19:30. Dortmund's public prosecutor's office confirmed that an investigation was underway.
The daily "Hellëeger Anzeiger" was the first media to report this scandal.
The young woman told the police in Una (North Rhine-Westphalia) that the Albanian had forced her into the kitchen, kissed her and sexually abused her.
Meanwhile, the media in Germany have described as a scandal the inaction of the prosecutor's office after the incident, as they allowed the rapist to travel freely to Albania.
"Since so far there are no strong suspicions of a crime, no request for an arrest warrant has been made," said a spokeswoman for the prosecutor's office.
According to German law, a rapist can be sentenced to at least two years in prison. It is currently unclear how the investigation will proceed.
But what still remains unclear is how the event unfolded, as there is still no information about the condition of the girl who claims to have been raped.
The accused person is reported to be neither a player nor a high-ranking official.
"The care of the employee and the protection of her personal rights are our top priority," said a spokeswoman for "SportCentrum Kaiserau".
While the 26-year-old has been suspended by the AFL.
