Laert Sallaku , 23 years old, from Albania graduated as a police officer in New York with an average of 9.96, the highest among all students.

Sallaku was a high school student when he left Tirana in 2017, where he settled in New York and started his journey by graduating in the USA.

The young Albanian graduated with the highest average where he was awarded a prize by the Mayor of New York. Among the 600 newly graduated officers, Laert Sallaku, ranked first, and at the ceremony, he shared his journey, which started in high school.

" My journey to becoming a New York City officer began about 6 years ago when I immigrated to New York at the age of 17.  As a young immigrant, I was faced with the diversity and inclusive character of the city where I immediately felt accepted and that I belonged here ", said Sallaku, during the ceremony.
