"I was gang-raped..."/ Detained in Israel, Baki Goxhaj speaks after

Alto player Baki Goxhaj spoke on "Albania Live" after arriving in our country.

He said that the boat carrying several activists was stopped by Israeli authorities as they were attempting to enter Gaza.

Goxhaj said that he and other activists were subjected to constant violence, and were even gang-raped by Israeli soldiers.

Baki Goxhaj: I am very well. I arrived in Albania today at lunchtime, two hours ago. I am currently still in Rinas. There were a group of activists who welcomed me and we sat together. There were 8 of us in our flotilla. They sent two boats to stop us, they were armed. They boarded the ship, blindfolded me. They asked questions to find out who the captain was, always with pressure and violence. Then they put us on an improvised container ship. Violence and pressure were the main theme of the entire hostage-taking. They also shot us in the container yard. One of the members of my ship was shot in the leg, he had a serious wound and was treated during the night. Later they also interrogated us. There was constant violence on the ship, they gang-raped us. They left me at the end where they raped me. At the end they put us in a large tent, an environment from which a video has emerged. I saw the scene shown in the video. I was present and I saw the minister with my own eyes. The minister was speaking Hebrew, while a girl shouted 'Free Palestine'. She was raped at that moment. They kept us with our heads down the whole time, but when there were cameras they told us to stand up straight. I had no fear for my life, except for the fact that when they feel threatened, they shoot you directly, they have no problem with it. But I was not afraid. I was not saved, I was infiltrated. The Israeli state has approved a list of infiltrated people because it has an interest in removing activists to hide the genocide. After a night in prison, they sent us to Istanbul. In the morning they registered our data, we gave the reasons why we were there. They asked me why you want to break Israeli law. I replied that the siege of Gaza is illegal and it is our right to change this. We have the right to end the genocide in Gaza. On the ship we had water and dry bread, while in prison we had sandwiches.
