The Police Supervision Agency in Tirana arrested on Monday evening (April 29) a person who presented himself as a police officer and extorted sums of money from sex workers in the capital.

It is known that the arrested person made meetings with girls known as escorts through social networks and after having sexual relations with them he told them that he was a policeman and that he intended to arrest them.

Then, in order not to arrest them, through threats, he demanded and took from them monetary values ​​ranging up to 2 thousand euros.

In the meantime, investigations are continuing for the full clarification of the scheme used by the arrested young man.

The Police Supervision Agency (Tirana Region), from the investigative actions carried out with special investigation methods, under the direction of the Prosecutor's Office at the Court of First Instance of the General Jurisdiction of Tirana, has arrested in flagrante delicto the citizen AS, 27 years old, suspected of committing of the criminal offense "Extortion by means of threats or violence to give away property".

From the performance of procedural investigative actions, it results that this citizen, introducing himself as a police officer and using identification tools such as those of the various structures of the State Police, contacted various citizens through social networks, where by coercion and threats, demanded and received from them monetary values ​​ranging up to 2 thousand euros, against the promise not to arrest them.

Investigations continue for the identification and documentation with legal evidence of the possible implication of the police officers as well as the social connection with the arrested person.
