Nertila Hoxhallari, an immigrant and activist in Germany, confessed to A2 the violence she faced in her two marriages, the first when she was a minor at only 15 years old, and the second marriage when she was 21 years old.
She considers the relationship with her first husband sexual abuse, as she was a still unformed minor.
" My parents came to talk to them. So that he would stop using violence against me, but it was impossible. The moment he came to talk to his parents and his cohabitant, it was impossible. My father loved me in his own way. But it was impossible to reach an agreement with them. We were all lost, hopeless. My neighbor helped me. I told him I needed a phone. I was pregnant with the girl. I waited for the girl to be born because it was very difficult for me to return to my pregnant parents. I was systematically raped even when I was pregnant. I didn't know what the relationship was like. But I managed to escape there. Then I lived with my family for 4 years, it was very beautiful, I was very free. We were in the village. I helped my father in the fields. My parents were sorry but they thought they made the best decision at the time ."
She confessed that she was raped again by her second husband when she was pregnant with her daughter.
" I was raped when I was pregnant, and so was my daughter. I was systematically raped, both psychologically and physically. Even when I gave birth to my daughter, I was raped. The violence continued for 3 years. I would sometimes leave my parents and come back. When the 3 years were up, I filed a complaint with the police. I got a protection order. But I forgave him, because he apologized to me and I forgave him. Then I reported him and never looked back ."
