In Albania, former official Alda Klosi, in whose apartment it is suspected that over 120 thousand euros and 30 thousand dollars were stolen, has given two different statements to the police about the money she had at home.
On December 15, the day when the theft reported to the police took place, Mrs. Klosi stated that she did not have large amounts of money. According to the minutes of her statement, which the Voice of America was able to see, Mrs. Klosi stated that in addition to the jewelry, from the preliminary check, she found that she also lacked an amount of money for expenses and daily vital progress.
Whereas, after the arrest of Rozeta Dobi, who worked as a cleaner at the former official's apartment, in a second statement, Mrs. Klosi stated that "during this time she thought calmly about the things she had and that on the day of the event they were stole an amount in foreign currency of more than 120,000 euros, as well as an amount of 30,000 dollars", which she explained was left to her by her uncle.
The contradiction in the two statements raises a number of questions, as it seems difficult that a person, who has such a large amount of money in the apartment, has not ascertained its absence, even more so, when according to the statements of the cleaner's son, the mother his had taken the whole vault. The question marks are also increased by the fact that the declaration of the stolen amount was made only after the arrest of the perpetrators of the robbery, almost 3 weeks after the event and not before.
Mrs. Klosi has covered high functions in the administration, as former director of concessions in the Ministry of Finance a few years ago and until July 2022, chief of staff of former Deputy Prime Minister Arben Ahmetaj, to then move to the Financial Supervision Authority. /VOA
