A 37-year-old man, identified as Ndriçim Sula, who was wanted by Spanish authorities for "fraud with serious consequences", was arrested in Tirana quite by chance.
Sula was stopped this Monday by the Tirana Traffic Police for using a cell phone while driving.
But after verification, it turned out that Ndriçim Sula was wanted by Spanish authorities, as part of Amant Josifi's criminal organization, for "Call-Center" fraud.
More specifically, the 37-year-old is accused of being part of Amant Josifi's group, which is internationally wanted by several countries for fraud involving 2.4 billion euros through "Call Centers".
Currently, Josifi is suspected to have been arrested in Dubai, while previously Josifi worked as an advisor to Olta Xhaçka while the latter was leading the Ministry of Defense.
The Seu de Urgell Court has ordered him to be held in prison for the criminal offense of "fraud" with serious consequences, committed within the framework of a criminal organization. Following Sula's arrest, the police said that they have initiated procedures for his extradition to Spain.
