"Restriction of vehicle use on certain days of the week". This is one of the measures that must be implemented by 2025 in order to reduce greenhouse gas emissions in the transport sector.

Everything is foreseen in the new National Energy and Climate Plan, released for public consultation. Among other things, the document suggests that limiting the use of vehicles on certain days could be done according to the license plate number, but this will have to be determined in the future by the relevant institutions.

In parallel, the draft also foresees a series of other measures, which must also be undertaken within 2025. Among them is the setting of traffic taxes as well as a study to eliminate the overlap of transport lines in their itineraries.

Meanwhile, by 2026, interventions will be needed in terms of infrastructure, related to the use of energy-efficient vehicles and improving the quality of roads, as well as in terms of urban planning by reducing mobility needs and distances through integrated planning.

These measures aim to reduce energy use, which in this case is fuel.

According to the document, car transport accounts for the largest percentage of passenger transport, while motorcycle and watercraft account for a small percentage. As for public transport, rail transport is negligible, so bus transport is the only mode of shared transport./scantv
