Lefter Alla ends up in the hospital!

The former mayor of Bulqiza, Lefter Alla, requests a milder security measure than that of prison arrest. Appeal decided at about 3:00 p.m.

Lefter Alla did not appear at the hearing but was represented by his lawyer as the former mayor is in the prison hospital due to health problems.

Lefter Alla was dismissed from office by Prime Minister Edi Rama, for serious violations, after being arrested by SPAK for abusing public tenders, favoring the companies of his relatives.  

Together with 12 other people, 7 of them municipal officials, were arrested for abusing a tender worth about 3 million euros. The deputy mayor of the Municipality, Enkeleda Lleshi, has also been taken into custody. Their arrest was made after they are accused of favoring the relative of Lefter Alla, Aqif Konesha, who carried out the works of the new water supply. 

On March 18, GJKKO set the security measure of 'prison arrest' for the mayor of Bulqiza, and the other arrested officials. During his testimony, Alla considered the accusations as political attacks against him.
