The Constitutional Court rejected the demands of the former Minister of the Environment, Lefter Koka, who sought the annulment of two Supreme Court decisions against him as unconstitutional.
In the filed appeal, Koka requested the annulment of the decision taken by the Criminal College of the Supreme Court that overturned the request made for the change of the security measure "prison arrest" received by the Appeal of GJKKO on January 5, 2023. According to Koka , the decision taken was incompatible with the Constitution of Albania.
Likewise, the Head requested the annulment of the decision taken and sending it to the Supreme Court for reconsideration.
Koka is currently in prison after being found guilty of the incinerator affair, that of Elbasan and Fier.
Former Environment Minister Lefter Koka was sentenced to 6.8 years in prison under charges of corruption and money laundering, a decision made in September of last year.
