Gazmir Preçi, the head of the anti-trafficking and narcotics sector in the Durrës Police, was handcuffed by order of SPAK after suspicions of "corruption" and "abuse of duty".
But his story resembles that of a fine, since the senior police officer of Durrës has been blackmailing the owner of a night bar at the Dajlan bridge in Durrës for days.
The police officer had established that in this bar some staff members were not insured at work.
Preçi threatened the businessman with the closure of the activity if he did not pay 20,000 euros.
Faced with this pressure, he went to the AMP where he made the report.
The businessman has agreed to cooperate with the justice to make the recording of the meeting for giving the money
Since he is a senior official, SPAK took over the investigations under the direction of prosecutor Enkeleda Millonai.
According to the information, the police official asked him to give the money to another person, but the businessman convinced him to give the requested amount himself.
He met with the head of the police in a bar in the area of Kinostudios in Tirana.
He was equipped with hidden cameras while the money was given by the justice institutions. Of the 20 thousand euros, he gave him 10 thousand, saying that he would give the rest a few days later.
At this moment, AMP agents intervene, arresting the head of the anti-trafficking police of Durrës in the act.
At the end of the actions, the value of 10,000 euros, various documents and two mobile telephones were seized as material evidence.
In SPAK, the police referred two charges: "Abuse of duty" and "Passive corruption of persons exercising public functions".
In 2021, Preçi, as the former head of the Mallakastër police station, was arrested for "abuse of duty" and "narcotics cultivation", but the case against him was dismissed a year later.
