The year 2024 has marked an increase in the number of violations and the involvement of State Police employees in illegality.

During 2024, AMP made 291 referrals to the prosecutor's office for 444 police officers, for various criminal offenses.

The violations identified by AMP include corruption, abuse of office, or involvement with underworld figures.

The figures show an increase, as 319 employees were sent to the prosecutor's office last year. Not only that, but investigations using wiretaps and proactive methods have increased by 33% compared to 2023.

Increasing figures have also been recorded for people who have been arrested with security measures issued by the court.

During this year, 163 officers have been arrested, about 60% more than last year, in which there were 102.

AMP investigations show that not only inspectors, but also higher ranks have been involved in corruption.

Involved in criminal activities were one high-level manager, two mid-level managers and 33 first-level managers, all in the positions of director of directorates and heads of sectors in central and local police structures.
