The Head of the Public Procurement Commission, Jonaid Myzyri, appeared before SPAK this Monday, where he testified for more than 2 hours.
After two hours of questioning, he left SPAK, while refusing to speak to journalists about the reason for his appearance.
According to preliminary sources, there are suspicions that he was summoned for several tender procedures conducted by the institution he heads, in his capacity as a person with knowledge. However, this remains to be officially confirmed by the Special Prosecution Office.
This is the second time that Myzyri has been summoned for questioning by special prosecutors regarding several public tenders suspected of being corrupt.
On February 20 of this year, he did not provide any clarifications to the media as he left the SPAK premises, where he had been questioned for about 2 hours.
Preliminary sources indicate that his questioning is related to complaints made about tender procedures, where there is suspicion of prior secret agreements between the commission and the winning firms.
It is learned that over 20 tendering practices are under verification by the prosecution. Myzyri has held this position since 2021.
Also, in January of this year, the government opened the competition to replace Myzyri, a process that has not yet taken place.
