Journalist Xhemajl Rexha, in a live broadcast for the show "Now with Erla Mëhillin" on Euronews Albania, has revealed further details regarding the surrender of Vlora Hyseni.
Rexha reported that Hyseni was inside Kosovo territory during the day, but she crossed the Morina border crossing in the evening and surrendered to Albanian authorities.
He further explained that the Kosovar side has nothing to do with the incident because as long as Hyseni was within Kosovo's territory, there was no directive from the Albanian authorities to arrest him.
"From the information that I have just managed to obtain from sources within Kosovo, it is clear that Ms. Hyseni was in the territory of Kosovo during the day and there was no arrest warrant within the territory of the Republic of Kosovo for her to be detained, and she crossed the border between Kosovo and Albania in the evening hours, since we are still in the summer period when controls are fewer.
Ms. Hyseni is now confirmed to have been handed over to the Albanian authorities, so there was no work done by Kosovo, nor by the Kosovo Police, nor by the authorities in Kosovo. Ms. Hyseni crossed the border and was stopped by the Albanian authorities on the Albanian side of the border between Kosovo and Albania in Vërnica, at the Morinë border crossing.
"According to information, it has crossed the border and is on its way. The Kosovar side has nothing to do with it since there has been no request from the Albanian authorities during the day, with the possibility that the Kosovar side, if it is in the territory of Kosovo, will be detained," he said.
Regarding doubts about its itinerary before the handover, Rexhaj stated that Kosovo does not have any direct air routes with Azerbaijan.
"Details about its itinerary are still unknown, Kosovo has no airline connection with Azerbaijan. It may have used an intermediate route, which is mainly Vienna, Austria, I have not confirmed it, I am saying it as a possibility that this is the main point for Kosovo travelers," he added.
