The Special Prosecution Office against Corruption and Organized Crime (SPAK) has reacted after the positive assessment by the European Commission for its results in the fight against corruption and organized crime.

During the 16th meeting of the Subcommittee on Justice, Freedom and Security between the European Union and Albania, held on 11 and 12 February 2025, the European Commission identified SPAK as a key element of justice reform.

In a public statement, SPAK shared part of the European Commission's message, emphasizing that the institution's independence and role in investigating and prosecuting complex cases have been essential for Albania's progress.

"SPAK has contributed to Albania's overall efforts to build a credible track record of results against serious crime, organized crime and corruption, including at high level," the EC statement said.
