Nikolin Selimi, the lawyer of 31-year-old Gert Shehu, the aggressor of the attack by former Prime Minister Berisha, has given details from today's court session, where his client was assigned the security measure "prison arrest".
In an interview for the show "Zona Zero" on Top News, Selimi informed that in today's session they asked for Gert Shehu to be admitted to a psychiatric hospital or "house arrest", considering prison arrest to be excessive.
"Leaving the client in prison was assessed as an excessive measure by us. We requested house arrest or hospitalization. Today there was more talk about technical evidence. We requested house arrest or hospitalization. We said that there are indications of health problems mental and we asked for temporary hospitalization in a psychiatric hospital. We still don't have the expert report and that's why the court decided like that. We still don't have the reasoned decision." he said.
Furthermore, the lawyer Selimi stated that there is no complaint from Gert Shehu regarding the persons who violated him after the incident.
"There is no such complaint on the part of Shehu and to my knowledge he has withdrawn from these complaints. Anyway, this is a choice of the client." he said.
Regarding the statements made in the media that he also spoke about his cousin who worked in Gërdec, the lawyer denied it and said that his client has decided to speak at a second time.
"In the declarations that we have signed as a person, we have not given any declaration and we have chosen to give the declarations at a second moment." lawyer Nikolin Selimi declared.
