Total chaos on the roads: Librazhd-Prrenjas axis blocked, traffic problems even

Traffic problems on the alternative Lozhan-Moglicë-Gramsh road, where the ARRSH diverted traffic due to the blockage of the Librazhd-Përrenjas axis. It is learned that three trailers have remained blocked in the Moglicë area.

According to information, so far it is impossible to open the traffic due to the blockage by trailers, which have passed from Elbasan and have been allowed by the Librazhd police to pass through this segment. The Korça police are at the scene, in order to find a solution for opening the traffic of vehicles.

Traffic was diverted on this road because at noon the ARRSH announced a total ban on vehicles on the Librazhd-Përrenjas axis due to the bridge collapsing in the area known as “Arrat e Gurrës”. Hundreds of drivers and passengers have been stranded for hours on both sides of the Librazhd-Përrenjas segment.

Many have decided not to wait any longer, but to find alternatives to continue their journey. The improvised solution has been to detour from the city of Librazhd, following the rural road through the village of Spathar, further along the Egnatia road - Dardhë village route, to descend again to the national segment Hotolisht-Përrenjas.

However, this alternative road, although serving as an "exhaust valve" for heavy traffic, presents numerous difficulties as it is a rural axis, with limited width and infrastructure not adapted to high vehicle flow, which has led to new columns and slow movement.

Residents and drivers say that the situation requires rapid intervention and a sustainable solution, as this axis is vital for the connection between the eastern areas and the central part of the country. Until a second announcement from the authorities, movement remains conditional and unsafe, while drivers are advised to avoid the blocked segment and to be informed in advance about the condition of the roads.
