"They've all died, only I'm left"/ Just turned 100, mother
Prena Ndue Biba

In "Abc e Pasdites" we got to know the story of the oldest grandmother of the city of Rubik, mother Prena Ndue Biba. Mother Prena celebrated 100 years of life this October. Born in 1922, this young lady has gone through not just difficulties in her life but important historical stages for Albania and various transitions in governing systems.

But as she celebrates the jubilee year, she stops at the most important moments of her life, which always have family at the center. The mother raised 10 children, not all of them are alive today. So undefeated but still tired, she recounts successive sacrifices such as poverty, lack of education, and today a small pension of 7 thousand lek.

"It's not that I lived a lot, I remember my happy life, I was strong, but I was very tired. I built 2 towers with my husband. They are alive, they are all dead, only I am left. God knows his own affairs. I don't have anything, I only have the soul. A pension of 70 thousand lek, I have nothing else. Except for the soul, I have the pure ones, but I don't give you anything. Except when you come out.” - said mother Prena on what her reality is today.

Married in Pshtjesh of Mirdita, she has been living in Rubik for a year where two ladies take care of her. The children are in emigration and now they meet less and less often.

For mother Prena, life is not lived in solitude, and this is the message for young people. To stay close to the family because they are the main pillar that each of us rely on. But above all education and school, as a big deficiency in its growth.

"Early on, they said it was done with taking the chicks to school. I took the first one, because I told the mother that the school will definitely be given to you. Why don't you miss our baby? How can I paint? Did you get it? I didn't want them to go outside, but I took them, they went to get me."

A century of life cannot be summed up in a few lines. Mother Prena tells about her husband and the relationship between them, the daughter who became a partisan, and many other moments.
