The Head of Resuscitation at the Vlora Regional Hospital, Edmond Breshanaj, has provided details about the condition of the people injured in the fire that engulfed the "Brooklyn" hotel in Lungomare, during the early hours of the morning.

Breshanaj said that the situation was an emergency, and six patients injured by exposure to fire and smoke were presented to the hospital.

According to him, some of them had suffered severe burns, while two people were injured after jumping from the second floor of the building.

"It was a very emergency situation, there were 6 patients damaged by exposure. They were on the second floor. 3 were severely burned and 2 had been thrown from the second floor, they had suffered spinal fractures," the doctor stated.

He explained that two of the patients were taken to the Trauma Center in Tirana, while three others were treated in the burn ward.

"We sent two of them to the Trauma Center because they did not have burns and 3 to the explosive burns ward in Tirana. We had the entire team notified, they were all on standby. They arrived around 4:30," said Breshanaj.

The condition of one of the patients is particularly serious. According to the head of the intensive care unit, one patient had suffered burns to almost 100% of her body, while another had burns to 50%.

"A life-threatening patient was burned almost 100%, one 50%. They were young, 25-30 years old. They were from Pristina, Lipjan and one patient from Rrëshen", he said.

Recall that the fire engulfed a building in the Lungomare area, where a bar was located on the first floor, while the "Brooklyn" hotel was on the second floor.

Due to the flames and thick smoke, some of the vacationers were forced to jump out of windows to escape the fire.
