The head of the DP parliamentary group, Gazment Bardhi, was asked by journalists about the reasons why the former villa of dictator Enver Hoxha was attacked with Molotov cocktails.

Bardhi said that the building serves as a villa where Rama closes his criminal and corrupt deals, and is also a symbol of dictatorship.

"First of all, it serves as a villa where Edi Rama closes his deals with crime and his corrupt deals. It is undoubtedly a symbol of dictatorship and of course the revolt of citizens, when they see nuances of that regime repeated 35 years after the fall of that regime, it is the most normal thing to have a revolt. The important thing is that no one was injured, except for the protestors. They were attacked in an unprecedented way by the police with gas and water cannons," said Bardhi.

Opposition protesters attacked the building with a volley of Molotov cocktails, while the fire in the building was extinguished within minutes.

There were people inside the villa during the Molotov cocktail attack.

The attack on the dictator's former villa seems to have caught the State Police off guard, who reacted later, with Special Forces dispersing the crowd using a water cannon.
