The law on the right to information provides that from the long list of information that must be made public without request, among them are the organizational structure of the institutions, data on the education, qualifications and salaries of officials, but from the research that TCH conducted on the websites of state institutions results that this point does not apply.
Also, many virtual sections of the ministries where reports, studies, and updated data should be published are either empty or with decisions from previous years.

According to experts, the lack of transparency affects the spread of fake news and propaganda.

"Each information system actually includes a transparency program, but not everyone implements it. The information is not updated. In the meantime, there should have been more recent information, but there is negligence and no transparency, if you look at the decisions of 2021, meanwhile we are at the end of 2022", said communication expert, Holta Heba.

Although the right to information is a legal obligation, the truncated data that is published online does not fulfill the purpose of digitization.

"Digitalization should serve the public, make it easier to find information. The costs are many and meanwhile the information is incomplete or not posted online", added Heba.

Academics estimate that government institutions year after year isolate themselves even more and try to keep information of public interest locked up in state offices./TCH
