A big fire engulfed the industrial market in Durrës, in the early hours of this morning, as 10 shops were burnt by the flames.

Due to the fire, several shops were burned, causing numerous material damages, while the entire area was covered by thick smoke.

It was the quick and very effective intervention of the firefighters that brought the flames under control, as they were in danger of spreading to the nearby apartments. The firefighters of Durrës and those of the port participated in the operation to extinguish the flames.

It is suspected that the fire came because some still unidentified wandering people lit a fire outside the surrounding wall to warm themselves, which spread inside the market.
