The first round of University registrations is closed. A total of 15,700 candidates were registered. Even this year, in all universities, the branches of Medicine, especially Nursing, have been the most preferred branch by young people.
The director of the Academic Network, Arjan Xhelaj, says that in the first Rwanda, the most enrollments are in public universities.
"We had about 80% of registrations, we approached the figure of 16 thousand registered graduates. The division at the moment, 70% in public universities and 30% in private universities."
According to Xhelaj, the academic offer continues to be guided by the preferences of graduates.
"The favorite branches have been those related to health, medicine, dentistry, nursing, but also branches such as midwifery or physiotherapy. A part of them has been reserved, at the Infirmary we have only two quotas. Many professionals in the field of health are required, therefore students are oriented towards these branches."
The universities have already announced the free quotas for the second round. While high school graduates have the opportunity to unregister until September 13 if they want to compete again for another branch. The application for the second round will be made on September 15-17.
