An employee of the inspection group of the Audiovisual Media Authority was physically assaulted today, in the institution's offices, by the representative of an ISP (Internet Service Provider) subject, who was punished for unlicensed activity by the AMA.

The news was announced by the President of the AMA, Armela Krasniqi, who condemned the case in a reaction on her Facebook profile. In Krasniqi's reaction, it is stated that the subject ISP was punished according to the law, due to the exercise of activity unlicensed by AMA, which also led to the serious incident of rape of one of the employees, moreover in the line of duty.

Below is the full reaction of the president of the AMA, Armela Krasniqi:

I strongly condemn the violence exercised today against an AMA employee, in the premises of the institution, by the representative of an ISP entity, punished according to the law, for activity not licensed by the AMA.

As a source of major legal violations, especially unlicensed transmissions or piracy of audiovisual content, ISP entities have long been under the strict surveillance of our work teams. Any illegal case is punished according to the legislation in force.

Today, a law breaker physically assaulted one of the members of the inspection team, who was on duty.

I express my conviction and belief that the law and order institutions will do their best work, for this shameful and unprecedented incident.

The regulation of the audiovisual market, its legality, the fight against piracy in all its forms, is our mission and our daily work. Therefore, I have only one message for such individuals: Every offender will be punished according to the law.
