Berat police have arrested today the 46-year-old man who hid the vehicle of two brothers, who are accused of shooting at two friends, Antonio Merkaj and Apostol Dhëmbi, on January 2.

Police say they have found and seized the car from which the two brothers fired shots.

Also, in the apartments of the two brothers, the Kalashnikov firearm with which the shooting was suspected was found, as well as several cartridges.

"Following the in-depth investigative and procedural actions, carried out under the direction of the prosecutor, immediately after this event, the specialists for the Investigation of Crimes of the DVP Berat, in cooperation with the services of the Kakavije PKK, arrested citizen ED, 46 years old, resident of Berat, for the criminal offense of "Supporting the perpetrator of the crime."

From the investigations so far, it is suspected that this citizen hid the “Ford” vehicle from which the brothers FM and MM are suspected of having fired at citizens AM and A. Dh., who were walking in the “Donika Kastrioti” neighborhood. No citizens were injured in the shooting.

"Searches continue to locate and capture the citizens wanted by FM and MM, as well as to fully document other circumstances of this event," the police announced.
