Miklovan Tufa is one of those Albanian boys from Dubai, but not from those dangerous ones who, while leading the most wanted lists, order events from there.

The young man just returned from the United Arab Emirates to face the charge of driving a motorcycle without documents, after an accident without injuries.

Four years ago, Miklovani was driving a motorcycle without a license and during this adventure he crashed into several parked vehicles.

He turned himself in at the police station and explained the crime he had committed, turning into a suspect in absentia.

"I presented myself that it was the right thing to do. "Unfortunately, I had to leave Albania, I live abroad, and the procedures continued without my knowledge, they assigned me a lawyer from the state without my knowledge, and I was not aware of the decisions or the punishment I received," he said.

As the months passed, as the young man continued his life, moving to England and then to Dubai where he was employed in the tourism sector, the file also continued its journey from the police to the prosecutor's office and then to the court.

The court sentenced him in absentia to three months in prison, so the moment came for Mikolovani to surrender to justice for the second time.

"I have come four times for this, some things happened along the way because it was also the covid part, now that I have finally returned to Albania for this issue. It has been converted to 14 months of probation," he emphasized.

For 2022, the Court of Tirana has marked 904 citizens as convicted for the charge of driving without documents and in a drunken state./Tch
