Drug trafficking network in Italy is hit, three Albanians among those arrested!

In the early hours of this morning, Novara Police executed an arrest warrant against five people, suspected of being members of a criminal group involved in the trafficking of large quantities of drugs.

The measure was imposed by the Court of Novara, at the request of the Republic Prosecutor's Office.

Those arrested are three Albanian citizens and two Italians, Italian media report.

The operation took place in the areas of Novara, Nibbiola and Vespolate, after a nine-month-long investigation by the anti-drug section of the Criminal Police.

According to authorities, the group had a well-organized structure and distributed around 30 kilograms of hashish and 2 kilograms of cocaine each week on the local market.

The network is suspected to have been headed by a 41-year-old Albanian citizen, previously convicted of criminal offenses, who had also involved his 39-year-old brother and several close associates in the activity, to limit the risk of betrayal or exposure to investigations.

According to investigators, the group's operational base was located in a residential complex in the Lumellogno area, where the drugs were stored for a short period and then immediately distributed to customers.

Each member had his own defined role: the brother of the "head" of the group served as a guard and prepared the drug doses, while another 32-year-old Albanian, called "the servant" and with no criminal record, handled the transportation of the narcotics.

The two arrested Italians, aged 55 and 52 and with criminal records, had made their premises available for hiding drugs.

Transport with adapted vehicles

The drugs were transported in a vehicle equipped with secret compartments built into the rear seats, which were opened with buttons placed on the car's upholstery.

During the investigation, police seized 30 kilograms of hashish and over 2 kilograms of cocaine.

According to the prosecution's estimates, the criminal group's activity has generated a monthly turnover of around 400 thousand euros.

Investigations are still ongoing to identify other possible accomplices and the distribution network.
