The Constitutional Court will decide today whether to review the government's appeal against the suspension of Belinda Balluku from her duties as minister and deputy prime minister by the Constitutional Court. The decision was supposed to be made a few days ago, but the review of the request was postponed to December 2.
The obstacle was the departure from the court of Holta Zacaj, who was replaced by Asim Vokshi. Zacaj was part of the Panel that would handle the "Balluku" file in the consulting room, and the judge who replaced him, Marsida Xhaferllari, asked for time to familiarize herself with the acts.
It is expected that the Constitutional Court will first respond to Prime Minister Rama's request, which initially wants Belinda Balluku to be reinstated and her suspension to be overturned.
After the GJKKO suspended Balluku from office, Prime Minister Edi Rama decided not to dismiss her from the post of Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Infrastructure, but removed her right to sign and appealed to the Constitutional Court. The government seeks to resolve the dispute over competences created between it and the GJKKO and to annul the decision to suspend her from office.
